![]() ![]() (PS, I also have electronics training from USAF where I once repaired a large system for over six years until I gladly left AF) More likely it is a weak wireless signal (which can reduce bandwidth, too) from router due to distance. One has to have a pretty low bandwidth signal to start with like 5 Mbps - max. ![]() After five minutes, plug it back in and try playing again once fully operational again.Īs for low bandwidth issues, maybe but the Echo hardly uses any bandwidth when playing. This gives the device ttime to completely clear any data stored and also your account at the mother ship as well. Since I don't know the answer to this is it the other general "fix" for a lot of Alexa issues" Turn it off and turn it on. ![]() I teach technical writing in a college engineering program and am a ham radio operator, been through Navy electronics and nuc schools, so I'm not a complete dunce when it comes to electronic devices, but this one is baffling me completely.įirst of all both of you w/problems need to tell us if the issue is with one particular station or quite a few. I get the same result with the new one! It still won't continue to play the station! So now we have TWO Echos that won't work! I just tried to set that new one up today - went through the same routine: dumped and reloaded the app, reset the router and modem, etc etc. Came to the conclusion that somehow the device got scrambled, maybe during a severe thunderstorm. Reset it, dumped the app and reloaded it, restarted both the wifi router and the modem, etc etc. We tried everything we could think of to no avail. This would happen a couple of times, and then it would not connect at all. We'd say, "Alexa, play AM 1370 WXXI radio," it would connect, play the station for a few seconds, then go silent. It worked great until a few weeks ago, when it started disconnecting (or stop playing) almost as soon as it connected to one of our local radio stations. We bought an Echo some months ago and just loved it. Hi - new to this forum - hoping to get some help. ![]()
